Michael Dierlam joins REDW as an accountant in the firm’s audit and consulting department in the Phoenix office. He recently earned a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management with a CPA Emphasis from Keller Graduate School of Management and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Alaska in Anchorage.

CALIFORNIA

Eddie Delgado has joined the Los Angeles office of CohnReznick as a principal. Delgado will lead the firm’s state and local tax practice on the West Coast. … Lavine, Lofgren, Morris & Engelberg, LLP has admitted Abbey Brown and H. Scott Jablowinto the partnership. Brown has been with the firm for 12 years, serving as manager in the tax department for the past six years. She works with a wide range of clients, including those within the industries of real estate, service and distribution. She specializes in providing tax services to closely-held and family-owned businesses. Jablow has been with the firm since 2008 and has more than 20 years experience assisting clients with their tax planning and compliance needs. His wide range of experience includes high net-worth individuals, partnerships and closely-held corporations. Jablow’s focus is working with businesses and owners on taxation issues while specializing in real estate taxation.

COLORADO

Lisa Clark has joined the TaxOps Minimization team as a tax manager. As a tax manager with the TaxOps Minimization team, Clark works with clients to comprehensively identify, analyze and complete credit-related tasks for a wide range of tax minimization solutions. Her in-depth knowledge of international, federal and state tax issues allows her to expertly guide business clients through complex technical and strategic tax issues. In addition, Clark strong understanding of tax return compliance and income tax provision processes (ASC 740) provide a broad basis for integrated tax solutions that optimize tax savings. Clark began her professional career with the Janus Capital Group, Inc. as a staff tax accountant. She moved into progressively more senior roles with The TriZetto Group, Inc., and most recently, NTT America, Inc. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Jim Paille, director of operations for myPay Solutions at Thomson Reuters, is the new president-elect of the American Payroll Association. APA members elected Paille to a three-year term during the organization’s 33rd Annual Congress in Las Vegas. The APA, with more than 20,000 members, is the nation's leader in payroll education, advocacy and publications.

NEW MEXICO

Andrea Mascarenas has joined REDW LLC as the human resources consulting coordinator in the firm’s Human Resources Consulting Department in the Albuquerque office. Mascarenas has experience in the Construction and Hospitality industry. Mascarenas earned both her Masters Degree in Business Administration and her Bachelors of Human Resources from Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. Steven Purwin joins as an accountant in the audit and consulting department. He recently earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting from Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. Bonnie Ulibarri-Romero joins the firm as an accounting specialist supervisor in the audit and consulting department. She has more than 24-years of experience including developing and implementing financial systems, auditing and management projects. Most recently she worked for the County of Bernalillo. Prior to joining REDW, she worked for the Office of the State Auditor for the State of New Mexico. Ulibarri-Romero earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, Concentration in Consulting from the University of New Mexico.

Christopher Cheeseman, CPA, returns to Marcum LLP as a tax and business services partner in the Melville, Long Island, office. Cheeseman, who most was most recently a principal in his own CPA firm, has over 15 years of experience in financial statement and tax preparation. He performs tax compliance and planning for S corporations, investment partnerships, individuals and LLCs, as well as financial statement compilations and reviews. He works with clients in various industries, including retail, professional services, real estate and manufacturing. From 2000-2009, he was a manager in Marcum’s tax division. … The New York Association of Ambulatory Care has announced that Peter Epp, CPA, is a recipient of the 29th Annual Significant Contribution to Ambulatory Care at their Annual Awards Gala. Epp is a partner in the New York office of CohnReznick LLP. Peter, who co-leads services dedicated to community health centers within the firm’s Healthcare Industry Practice, has been an active educator and financial advisor to many ambulatory care providers in New York State including the Community Health Care Association of New York State and the Primary Care Development Corporation.

Stacie Thomas Morales will join the Center for Audit Quality as senior director of strategy. In her new role, Morales will focus on helping the CAQ better understand, coordinate, and strategically align the profession’s U.S. policy positions with those in other jurisdictions.
