S&P to Hold Fair Value Accounting Forum

Standard & Poor's plans to host a forum on the merits of fair value accounting later this month.

Speakers at the forum will include Financial Accounting Standards Board chairman Bob Herz (pictured), Standard & Poor's chief accountant Neri Bukspan, PricewaterhouseCoopers partner Raymond Beier, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton partner Alan Beller, UBS global head of quantitative risk control Darryll Hendricks, and CFA Institute senior director of capital markets policy Rebecca T. McEnally.

Among the topics to be addressed are the complexities and challenges of fair value accounting, the intersection of risk management practices with fair value accounting, and a comparison of fair value accounting with traditional cost accrual accounting.

The forum will take place on Thursday, May 15, from 8:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. ET, at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. Registration information and a full conference agenda are available at http://profile.standardandpoors.com/content/FairValue.
