Sage Upgrades Peachtree Line

Sage Software has upgraded its Peachtree line with new features for cash flow analysis, reporting, payroll management, real-time alerts, and time and expense tracking.

A new cash manager tool in Peachtree 2009 allows small businesses to better predict cash flow. It includes what-if analysis abilities that allow companies to try out different scenarios and export the information to Microsoft Excel for further analysis. Multi-year reporting features let small companies report on general ledger and financial statement data outside of two open years to compare budgets and financial results over longer periods of time. "You can see back at least three years," said strategic marketing manager Chris Claude.

New payroll management features include an improved setup wizard, the ability to set up multiple retirement and insurance plans, along with flexible spending accounts, additional state taxes, and vacation and sick time tracking. A more secure presentation of employee data displays only the last four digits of Social Security numbers to help guard against identity theft.

Users receive a real-time alert if they try to put a non-standard accounts payable or accounts receivable number on an invoice. Firms that track their time can now set the first day of the work week for weekly timesheets, copy timesheets from the previous week, and see new time-and-expense ticket list views for better analysis.

In addition, customers receive 100 megabytes of off-site storage hosted by Iron Mountain. For more information, visit www.sagesoftware.com.
