Salmon Sims Thomas Appoints Sims as CEO

William Sims has taken on the role as CEO at Salmon Sims Thomas & Associates.

Sims previously served as the chief operating officer. The firm’s founder, Ron Salmon, will continue his role as tax partner and chairman of the board of directors as well as focus on his client base.

“As chief operating officer, Bill has provided the leadership and direction our firm needed to continue and accelerate our growth,” stated Salmon. “He has headed several new initiatives that take us solidly into the future of leading edge accounting practices. Bill’s guidance also preserves our core client relationships and protects us from the ebbs and flows of our industry and the economy.”

Sims has more than 30 years’ experience providing accounting, tax, and business consultation to clients in a variety of industry groups. He began his career with Salmon Sims Thomas in 1995 where he has built the firm’s nonprofit niche and served in a number of company leadership roles.

Sims earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Baylor University in 1980. He is a recognized expert in the nonprofit sector with a concentration in religious organizations, agencies, country clubs and associations.
