SEC Names Senior Advisor to Chief Accountant

The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Paul A. Beswick to serve as senior advisor in the SEC Office of the Chief Accountant.

Beswick will advise the chief accountant, Conrad Hewitt, on complex accounting and auditing issues, and help develop strategic objectives.

Before he joined the SEC, Beswick was a partner with Ernst & Young, where he worked in the Big Four firm's Professional Practice and Risk Management - Accounting Group.

He previously served as a practice fellow with the Financial Accounting Standards Board from July 2005 through June 2007.
