Texas CPAs Name New Chair and Board

The Texas Society of CPAs has elected a new chairman, Steven R. Goodman, along with a new board and officers.

Goodman will serve a one-year term with the 28,000-member TSCPA as the society's volunteer leader. He is president and chief investment officer of Goodman Financial Corp., a Houston-based fee-only money management firm founded in 1988. Goodman spent two years with the Big Eight firm Arthur Young prior to founding his firm. In addition to being a CPA, he is also a certified financial planner and is registered as an investment advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

At the TSCPA he will chair the board of directors, which sets policy, manages programs and oversees activities designed.

Joining Goodman as TSCPA officers are Kym Anderson, chairman-elect; Mark Jones, secretary; Jeff Gregg, treasurer; and Bradley D. Brown, treasurer-elect.

Along with Goodman, Anderson, Jones, Gregg and Brown, the following Texas CPAs will serve on the TSCPA Executive Board:  Bill Frazer,  Donna Hugly,  Penny Dear,  Donna H. Wesling,  Janet B. Johnson, Michael W. Young,  Edward L. Lette, James A. Smith,  Tracy B. Stewart and M. Todd Welty.
