Thomson Reuters has released a new program to help tax professionals and accounting firms educate their clients, prospects and client service teams about the latest developments in the field.

Thomson Reuters’ Checkpoint Learning 2015 Tax Update program aims to helps tax professionals and accounting firms educate their clients, prospects and client service teams on the latest developments in the field.

The company said the newest addition to its Checkpoint Learning program, the 2015 Tax Update, can be used as both an informational and marketing tool to attract prospects and retain clients, allowing firms to demonstrate expertise in areas such as the Internal Revenue Service Data Book, 2014, the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) program, recent health care reforms including a detailed look at Form 1095, and differentiating between employees and independent contractors. It also satisfies the requirements for continuing professional education credits for up to 25 individuals, with an opportunity to purchase additional CPE certificates if necessary.

“Highly customizable for various firm stakeholders, the program gives tax professionals the timely and relevant insights they need to better understand tax planning and compliance issues,” said Ken Koskay, senior vice president of learning solutions with the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters,in a statement. “Accounting firms can also use the program to provide CPE-accredited training for clients and prospects, as well as their client-facing staff, creating potential new revenue streams or value-added services for existing clients.”

Checkpoint Learning 2015 Tax Update includes a PowerPoint presentation and leader manual with supplementary material on topics and discussion questions for the training sessions.
