My tax season checklists have been updated and are ready for you in a Word file so you can use them as you want. There are now 120 checklists on tax season and many other topics that come up on a regular basis.

The checklists have become an annual tradition, and I expect over 4,000 downloads from here and on the open forums I post them on, as well as from people who request them directly from me.

I am offering them for free to my colleagues as a way to give back to this wonderful profession I have been a part of for over 50 years. If others before me did not share, I certainly would not have been as successful as I was or had as much enjoyment practicing. This is one of my ways of paying them — by paying it forward.

The bottom line is that we are not in this by ourselves, and no one has accomplished what they have done all on their own. I always took (and take) copious notes at management of accounting practice presentations, read many of the MAP articles that are published, particularly in Accounting Today, try to read at least one book written by each of the many practice consultants, and also attend webinars and podcasts on the topic. I also welcome calls from colleagues with their MAP questions and am glad to assist them when I can. When confronted with questions in a “new” area, which are many, I try to write a column here or on www.cpatrendines.com about it, or incorporate some of the ideas in a speech or article.

This year’s checklists do not just concern tax season, but also practice management and service aids for client consultations. You can download the complete file by clicking here. If for some reason you have a problem downloading it, send me an email at GoodiesFromEd@withum.com. Enjoy. Have a great tax season.
