Nearly 3,000 Millionaires Received Unemployment in 2008

Recently released IRS data indicates that 2,840 households making at least $1 million collected $18.6 million in unemployment insurance in 2008.

Of those, 806 had incomes of more than $2 million, and 17 had incomes over $10 million, according to Bloomberg.com.

The effects of the recession ran far and deep, touching not only the middle class and the poverty stricken, but also those whose financial nest eggs came close to cracking.
