Getting it right online
Accounting firms of all sizes struggle with establishing a strong presence online (all too many firms dont have any presence at all!), but its crucial to have a site thats professional, easy to use, and useful.
With all that in mind, Sarah Warlick of bbr marketing has put together this set of six tips for improving your Web site; you can see the text version of the story here.

1. Organize for easy orientation.
Making a clear path to find all the information a visitor might need is important, so sort your content carefully so its obvious where to go to find contact information, specific services and everything else.

2. Build your brand with consistent design.
Spend the time to ensure your logo, colors, fonts and name are used consistently and attractively. Also be sure the other site graphics complement your branding in size, style and color.

3. Use your prime real estate well.
The information that appears right where viewers are lookingwithout scrolling downshould be the most important message you want to share. Dont let this valuable space be eaten up entirely by invitations to sign up for e-mail, navigation bars, overly thick logo banners or anything else.

4. Stick to great images.
If you must use stock images, spend a little more for really good ones. Better yet, get a good photographer to take photos of your own people at work and at play, and of your offices. Other great shots might come from local scenery (both natural and manmade) or original art.

5. Highlight the benefits.
The benefits of choosing your firm should be front and center. Try taking the clients perspective. Its far more powerful to read about getting something you want than it is to see someone saying, Im awesome, over and over.

6. Include another perspective.
Including case studies and testimonials where theyre easy to spot is a great way to help drive the message home that you can help potential clients achieve their goals.
