App of the Week: CM Security Heartbleed Scanner

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of the Heartbleed Bug that’s terrifying everyone who does anything on the Internet. But have you done anything about it?

There’s plenty of advice available on handling it (See “The Heartbleed Bug: What it is and 5 Steps to Take Now” for ours), but tens of millions of people still haven’t done anything about it, which means their tens of millions of devices are still vulnerable.

Stepping into the gap – at least for Android devices – is security app developer KS Mobile, which has released its free CM Security Heartbleed Scanner. The app scans all Android mobile apps on your device to check for Heartbleed-infected apps, checks your hardware to make sure your device is secure, reminds you to change your passwords or delete infected apps, and otherwise helps protect your data.

And while you’re picking up a little Heartbleed protection on Google Play, why not take a look at KM Security’s other security app? The Internet’s a pretty dirty place, and you never know what sort of malware or viruses you may have picked up there.
