CBIZ MHM Reorganizes Tax-Consulting Business

CBIZ MHM is realigning its tax consulting business under a new initiative that centralizes four of the firm’s specialty tax service lines.

The four specialty tax service lines will be under the direction of national tax practice leader Steve Henley.

“Over the last few years, we have added specialized tax talent from Big Four and super regional firms,” he said in a statement. “We are now in position to leverage our national platform on a local level while maintaining a premium on providing outstanding client service.”

The four specialty tax service lines which make up the national tax consulting initiative include:

State and Local Tax: This group advises companies on multi-state tax planning, including issues of nexus, sales and use tax, income and franchise tax, property tax and state tax incentives. Craig Williams, a lead managing director in CBIZ’s national tax office with more than 25 years of accounting experience, will lead the SALT specialty practice.

International Tax: A growing area of need for many companies, the international tax practice has extensive experience with worldwide tax minimization and structuring strategies, transfer pricing, FIN 48 and intellectual property migration. The practice is led by Stuart Anolik, a managing director in CBIZ’s Bethesda, Md., office, who brings more than 25 years of international tax experience.

R&E Tax Services: Led by Mike Silvio, a managing director in CBIZ’s Irvine, Calif., office, the research & experimentation tax practice conducts research and experimentation tax credit studies and defends these claims for taxpayers. He has more than 20 years of professional experience successfully conducting hundreds of studies.

Individual Wealth Planning: Individuals and families that have achieved a substantial level of prosperity have complex tax needs. Marc Minker, a managing director in CBIZ MHM’s New York office, with more than 20 years of experience assisting high net-worth individuals and running family offices, will lead this group.
