The proposed ASU is part of FASB's continuing technical agenda project to make incremental improvements to U.S. GAAP by updating the Codification across a wide range of topics in amendments collectively known as Codification improvements.

The amendments in the proposed update would affect a wide variety of topics in the Codification and apply to all reporting entities within the scope of the impacted accounting guidance. The guidance includes "rabbi trusts," share-based payment awards, net investment hedges and more.

FASB is asking its stakeholders to review the entire document and provide feedback by Nov. 19, 2026.
