Prager Metis adds Goldsmith Molis & Gray

Prager Metis CPAs, a Top 75 Firm based in New York,  has merged in Goldsmith Molis & Gray, expanding the firm's footprint in North Carolina, effective Jan. 1.

The namesakes of GM&G — Crystal Goldsmith, Joe Molis and Allen Gray — have joined Prager Metis as partners, while George Gabler and Steven Foster have joined as principals. They and the rest of their 40-person team will be working out of their current offices in Asheville and Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Prager Metis ranked No. 52 on Accounting Today's 2023 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $120 million in annual revenue. The firm has approximately 90 partners and 600 employees.

GM&G's origins date back over 60 years. It provides tax, accounting, auditing, and business advisory solutions to its clients, including private companies and entrepreneurs in various industries.

"By integrating the GM&G team into Prager Metis's industry-leading platform, together we will build upon our rich histories of client-centered service. We are confident this partnership positions us for the future in a dynamically growing market."

Last February, Prager Metis added Gassman Financial Group, a financial planning firm based in New York. In 2021, it added Blair, Bohlé & Whitsitt, a firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2020, it merged in D'Arcangelo & Co. in Poughkeepsie, Rye Brook, and Millbrook, New York, Shine & Co. in New York, and William J. Keephart CPA in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. In 2019, it did several other mergers, including with M Moskowitz in River Edge, New Jersey, LFL Veritas in Teaneck, New Jersey, Frank & Co. in Washington, D.C., and Beck, Villata & Co. in Florida and New Jersey.
