Laura Culp was named partner-in-charge of the construction and real estate services practice of Sikich, Akron. Culp has more than 30 years of experience helping contractors and real estate developers with tax and financial strategy, as well as succession planning.

Jeffrey Skakun was hired as a staff accountant at Hall, Kistler Co., Canton. The firm also announced additional employee recognitions and achievements. Karen Brenneman, managing partner, was elected to serve as Americas regional chair of global association BKR International, where she has been an active member since the firm joined the organization of accounting and business advisory firms 17 years ago. Brenneman was also honored as one of the 30 Faces of Leadership by the Leadership Stark County, in celebration of the program’s 30th year, and to recognize Brenneman’s community impact, volunteerism and leadership. Seth Turner, supervisor, received the Canton Regional Chambers Ystark! Twenty Under 40 Award. Additionally, Sandra Orcutt, supervisor, earned her EA designation and Alex Ferrara, senior accountant, received his interdisciplinary master of business administration with a concentration in tax and accounting from the University of Akron.
