TaxConnections Links Taxpayers to Tax Professionals

A new Web site offers taxpayers free access to answers from local tax professionals who pay to be listed in its search engine.

With TaxConnections, when taxpayers type a location into the search box, the site will display a variety of tax professionals available to answer tax questions for free.

TaxConnections combines a directory, search engine, and online question-answering service to create a resource where members can find professional help with their taxes, learn more about tax professionals before hiring them, and receive answers to their tax questions. Membership for taxpayers is free. Tax Professional Members pay less than a dollar per day to be part of the interactive, international directory of tax professionals.

“TaxConnections can help taxpayers locate and get to know local tax professionals now, so when tax season rolls around, they're ready to hit the ground running,” said TaxConnections CEO Kathleen “Kat” Jennings.

Jennings, a veteran tax consultant with 30 years of experience, saw the need for a site that would give tax professionals a global brand marketing opportunity and allow taxpayers to find and freely interact with tax professionals from tax organizations, law firms, public accounting firms, corporations, government agencies and independent tax consulting practices. She assembled a team and forged ahead with the project.

The site includes a “Tax Boardroom,” a private online office where members can interact securely and directly with specific tax professionals. Each Tax Professional Member has his or her own Tax Boardroom; free members may request access, but it is up to the Tax Professional Member to grant it. Tax Professional Members can add documents to their Tax Boardrooms and make announcements about tax-related events. Users can also meet with Tax Professional Members face-to-face in their Tax Boardrooms via Skype video conferencing.

“TaxConnections helps tax professionals create and nurture new business connections and build an international audience for their tax expertise,” Jennings said in a statement.

TaxConnections is now in beta mode. For more information, visit www.taxconnections.com.
