Through the partnership, Sage customers will be able to accept credit and debit cards on hundreds of different types of mobile phones and other mobile computing devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Android, and BlackBerry, across all major wireless carriers.

Roam Data’s mobile payment application Roampay is being integrated with Sage Exchange, Sage’s secure, certified payments technology. Sage Exchange integrates with a wide range of Sage business management software products and third-party business products.

“Roam’s leading-edge mobile technology connects hundreds of existing mobile devices, expanding the reach of mobile payments to virtually every user that has a cell phone, smart phone or tablet,” said Sage Payment Solutions president Greg Hammermaster. “Our Sage Exchange platform will tightly integrate these mobile devices with most Sage accounting and ERP solutions, providing seamless mobile payments integration.”

Last week, Sage Payment Solutions announced a similar partnership with payment technology developer Ingenico to bring to market an integrated payments offering for small and midsized businesses (see Sage Teams with Ingenico on Payments for SMBs). Through the partnership, Sage customers will be able to use Ingenico’s credit card terminals with Sage Exchange plus data integration and two-way communication. Roam Data is Ingenico’s mCommerce provider and strategic partner.

Sage Exchange-connected Roampay products will be generally available later this year For more information, visit www.sagepayments.com.
