Intuit has released several updates for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, and QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Barry Pennett has been named to the new role of vice president and general manager of Intuit’s ProConnect Group, just in time for tax season.

Changes should make it easier for taxpayers to find the free versions of tax prep software from vendors who have been accused of misleading consumers into paying for the products.

Intuit is also offering its own Cloud hosting solution for the desktop tax prep software.

Updates include new forms, e-file capabilities, and behind-the-scenes software upgrades.

QuickBooks Online debuted new features in November, just in time for the holidays.
